Trend Micro HijackThis -- The Beta 2.0

Trend Micro HiJackThis -- Beta 2.0

Alright, you've most likely noticed or read if your like me, (and have no life other than the computer and several Victoria Secret catalogs) than you've noticed that HiJackThis has been "Hijacked" in a sense by who else but Trend Micro. Now Im not against Trend Micro, they do offer many good downloadable anti spyware and security suite products, but it's concerning to wonder what they will do with HijackThis, a program that practically should of been 50 dollars for the shear fact that it's one of the BEST if not best error and virus/trojan detectors out there, period.

I have indeed tried this version and it is rather different, not very noticable to the naked untrained eye, but I digress. This program, whether controlled by Trend Micro or not is still an amazing application for detecting system problems.

"Trend Micro HijackThis is a free utility that generates an in depth report of registry and file settings from your computer. HijackThis makes no separation between safe and unsafe settings in its scan results giving you the ability to selectively remove items from your scan results identified as malicious or unwanted from your machine. In addition to this scan and remove capability HijackThis comes with several tools useful in manually removing malware from a computer." -Trend Micro

Now officially they do not support HijackThis, but im sure that will change within time. Either way it shouldn't deterant you from downloading this excellent program. It has sure saved me and my friends butts alot of times, and trust me, ALOT of times.

Please remember, while this program does detect many issues with the registry and system, it is severly dangerous to try and delete items unless your a savvy computer user. It is best to submit your log, (Since HJT offers the option to scan and save a log-file) to a forum or website with knowledge-able folks. You've been Warned.
